Welcome to Kramer Middle School

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Our educators have the highest expectations for your success, now and in the future. We would like to extend an invitation to our wonderful parents, guardians and community members to volunteer throughout the school year. This year, we have enhanced our family engagement program to include home visits to speak with you and your child about your hopes and dreams, and to ensure we exceed your expectations. We are counting on you to be a part of our community.

Our goal at Stephen E. Kramer Middle School is to provide all students with the opportunity to excel in academics, athletics, and fine arts so that they may become positive, contributing members of our school and community. We offer engineering and computer science courses and have expanded our foreign language program. Students at Kramer can choose from a range of athletic opportunities, as well as music and art classes to explore their talents and interests. We also provide engaging after-school activities, such as chess and robotics, in our twilight program.

I look forward to working with you this school year. If you need to contact me I am always available for my community between the hours of 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM at roman.smith@dc.gov or 202-374-3324.

Roman Smith, Principal

  • We are gearing up for PARCC! Saturday School is now in session. It is held from 9 am to 12 pm with breakfast and a snack provided. Any student who attends is eligible to win prizes. We will also raffle either a game console or an Ipad!
  • Parents: be reminded that students are not allowed to bring snacks, candy or sunflower seeds into the school building. Any student who brings these items into the building will immediately have the items confiscated. Encourage your scholar to bring in a lunch that includes a small bag of chips, small drink and a sandwich and/or Lunchable.
